This course is designed to guide you through the process of sheath making. We will be making a custom sheath for your individual knife. This can be a knife made here at the workshop on a course or any knife of your choosing with a blade 7" or shorter. This course covers templating, cutting leather, glue up, punching stitching holes, saddle stitching, fitting snap fasteners, bevelling & edging finishes.
All you need to bring is the knife you'd like to make a sheath for and some lunch. I will provide all the materials & tools required, plus plenty of tea & coffee.
The classes are a max of 4 students in a relaxed atmosphere and the sheaths can be made at each individuals pace.
I've been making and selling leather goods for over 7 years. It's an incredibly useful skill and I really enjoy sharing the process. This course covers a lot of the skills required to go away and take on other leather making projects.
